Revieweing Frizzant studio.
Frizzant is not just a yoga studio, it’s a beautiful place where you can feed your body and soul. Location on Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes 692 makes it easy to access from practically all parts of Barcelona. To enter the studio, you need to go through the restaurant. Fresh coffee smell welcomes you at the door and then a smiley lady shows you around if it is your first time.
There is a marvellous venue with comfy lodges, where you can hang out between the classes or just get some free water and juice infusion for a little energy boost.
I was recommended Frizzant by a friend and what also appealed to me was an impressive selection of the classes as well as loads of options in English.
I was not disappointed.
What caught my attention in the first place is the fact that they have their own mats and props, so you don’t need to bring anything with you. I appreciate this high-quality equipment because the mat's anti-slip surface helps you find a better balance. What’s more, their design is simple but nice with a catching phrase engraved: “In case of doubt, breath”. I find it amazing!
The practice room is spacious, clean and filled with pleasing to the eye decorations. There are roof windows which can be fully covered. This is what makes this place unique, because such limited lighting allows playing with the colours, candles, lamps and also adds a magical vibe to this place.
My first class there was a morning Vinyasa Flow with Carmen. This beautiful instructor was keeping her students engaged the whole time. Good selection of the music, AC on and a very creative flow were definitely the main touchpoints. I adored Savasana in the darkness as I could just completely surrender to the ground. Additionally, Carmen was walking around spraying a delightful mist all over the place, leaving a refreshing, cinnamon-citrus scent over the bodies of the students. It helped me to breathe deeper and got me into another level of relaxation. She also used an aromatic oil and just gave all of us a quick massage over the necks and shoulders. I don’t know about others, but to me, that Savasana was absolutely blissful…
The only thing which I was missing during that class was a bit more of teacher’s involvement and corrections.
I took a class with Fran as well. Active Yoga with him was super fun but also challenging. I loved his energy and attitude because he was helping the students with the alignments at all times.
Furthermore, my latest class was Yoga Alignment with Vlad. It was not a traditional Iyengar Yoga, but rather a preparation class with a fun twist. We were working on some basic postures as well as on more advanced ones with the use of props and the teacher's broad explanations. I’ve learned some valuable tips, like for example: how to work on half moon using the wall. This class might be for those who want to deepen their practice or perhaps just starting their journey and want to do it the right way.
To sum up, we’ve got a modern, clean and inspiring space with superb instructors, a broad selection of the classes, good equipment and healthy food - all in one place! To be honest, there is noting to complain about and I can truly admit that this place is rocking!
As their slogan says - “modern yoga, real food & inspiration” - you can definitely find those in Frizzant, and I am sure your body and mind will be grateful. Whether you speak Spanish or not, no matter how long you’ve been practising yoga; in this place - everyone can feel welcome.
